kinda stupid question..... but i need to know..

I agree with you, there is a difference in cured and uncured bud's potency. While it is true that genetics are the main determining factor in the strength of your bud, curing does positively affect potency by allowing your final product reaches it's peak potency. That's a scienctific fact...

kinda stupid question..... but i need to know..

I don't see where he is asking if the root does anything? At least that is what I got from reading his question. He wanted to know if he can cut it at the root and hang it upside down because his friend told him THV runs to the buds. Genetics determine the potency of your bud but there are...

kinda stupid question..... but i need to know..

that was meant to say does NOT. Did you read the rest of the post? I guess not since you only quoted one sentence that you can tell was obviously an error since the rest of my post contradicts that.

kinda stupid question..... but i need to know..

Hanging them upside down does not allow THC to run to the buds. It's sorta a old wive's tale. It's actually the process of drying and curing that allows your bud to be at it's peak potency. People got the idea that that THC was running to the buds but actually it's just the chemical reactions...

First Cure - How does smell and taste change?

Whoaa, I never said you wouldn't get high from uncured buds, I just said curing increases potency, it basically allows them to be at the peak potency because of the chemical reactions that occur. I certainly didn't just make it up, I read it in a number of places. Plus, I have doing this long...

How long has this plant actually been flowering? The buds look underdeveloped, like it may have just started flowering. The stem is real thick but it looks like it just started to bud. How lng ago did you switch to the 12/12 light cycle? oh BTW, tell you mate to quit picking buds off it...

    trim wet or Dry

I trim the fan leaves and any other leaves that have a visible stem before hanging it to dry. I leave the sugar leaves or inner leaves alone; once my buds are done hang drying I trim the longer inner and sugar leaves but leave the shorter smaller ones alone; then off to the paper bags they go...

First Cure - How does smell and taste change?

It is possible that it was too dry before you put it into the jars. Weed that dried to fast or is too dry will be harsh because the by-products of photosythesis never got to break down fully. If they are too dry in the jars the during process doesn't get going. As far as the stems snapping or...

The First Rays of the New Rising Sun... (or the beginning of my first indoor harvest)

Dude those are the coolest plants I've ever seen. They look really good! And hell for only being 6 inches tall at most, it looks like you have a fair amount of bud! Nice job! +rep

    Want Bag Appeal? Curing Matters

Hey Budda, That is true, some that some growers prefer to leave the fan leaves on to help slow the drying process. The reason the fan leaves slow the drying process is because they curl up around or cover the buds; this holds the moisture in the buds and only lets it escape very slowly. I...

    Shud I Harvest? chek dis.

Are you crazy?^^^ Those look mostly Sativa, which can take sometimes 12-14 weeks to finish. Just judging by the development of the buds I would say you have at least another 4 weeks, maybe longer. They look like they haven't even begun to bulk up yet.

First Cure - How does smell and taste change?

Ok first it's only been a week, a good cure is going to take at least two weeks, longer depending on the strain and density of your buds, be patient give it some time. Now there are several things that make weed harsh. The first thing is weed that was either dried too fast or is too dry. You...

    Want Bag Appeal? Curing Matters

Your welcome!! Sorry it didn't really help so much this time but next time you'll be a seasoned pro :blsmoke:. The drying and curing process seem to be where new growers frequently run into the problems, that problem is usually MOLD. It's not just first time growers that run into this problem...

    Help identifiyng the strains?

No way to tell what strains you have, there are just so many out there; not even considering all the landraces that haven't been discovered yet. In my opinion though both plants are the same strain, the one you said might be a Sativa hybrid because of the longer leaves is probably just a...

    Lemon G?

I figured it would start rolling it pretty soon. Just wait until the middle of November, there will be TONS (literally) of it all over the area. Kentucky, Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, Eastern West Virginia, and Indiana will be flooded with that outdoor Kentucky grown bud.

    Lemon G?

Oh okay! I hadn't heard about that one, of course I'm about 2.5+ hours from Columbus. But the one I was talking about was in Y-Town about 4 years ago, 3850 plants in a warehouse, 2 floors, 7 seperate grow rooms. They indicted 11 people. Then about a year or 2 after that they got 2 more in...
