This is all pretty much what I've heard. Of course genetics play a major role here, but you can help "sway" the effects of your plant more sativa or indica by harvesting earlier or later, respectively.

Agreed, soil is best for a first grow. Experience is the best way to learn, and soil has more room for error. Get your first grow under your belt before you make things more complex. Good luck!!!

Double check those bulbs, they're most likely only about 26w (they're made to replace 100w incandescents) Daylight spectrum is for vegging, warm white is for flowering. Check the temp of the "Bright" bulbs (look on the bottom of the bulbs). around 3000k is for flowering (reddish), 6500k or so...

Actually, I use DWC for a SOG grow. My space was odd and it worked best, was able to use 4 buckets (5 incl. mother) to get a harvest every 2 weeks. 12 plants per bucket, with 2x 250 hps lights. works for me. Im one week from my first harvest, and its looking like ill get 7-14g per plant.

I was an apprentice piercer for a while, but never became a professional (long story there). Anyways, it had me pretty involved in the body mod 'scene' and tongue splitting was always something that intrigued me. I can understand someone getting it done, and have known someone who has it done...
