i would say try to keep it on the cooler side, 88 seems a lil too hot and could possibly create a problem and make the buds sweat in the jar (thus leading to mold).. u should also keep the jars away from direct light for extended periods of time.

dry buds should contain about 15% moisture.. if u hang dry your buds and dont cure them, chances are your bud wont be as potent nor will it smell or taste as dank as cured bud.. i think about 90% of peeps on this site advise curing. i absolutely do. hang dry til step snaps and then seal them up...

3 feet seems a lil too far, the seedlings are used the sunlight which is wayyy more powerful than a 400w lol.. i would say start the light about 18" away for the first few days and gradually lower it day by day.. finally getting as close as possible without burning.. with my 250w i can have it...

my last go around i had to cure for 3+ weeks for the smell to come back, its usually strain-dependent.

just keep curing and curing, burping jars once a day, the smell will come back..

what i did was hang the larger buds upside down in my drying box and then put all the popcorn nugs on a screen at the bottom and turned them over once a day until evenly dry..
