I don't use any perlite. The only bag I could find was huge and with my grow being as small as it is I couldn't see having it taking up space. The original hempy method actually uses 3 parts vermiculite and 1 part perlite in case you already have that handy

I'll never buy feminized seeds..I'm not going to be dependent on any seed company. I'll make my own, or take some cuts.

With the method I use to grow I almost can't overwater. I added a couple of pics of my cab to my album, and it shows my hempy containers. Basically there is a hole about an 1 1/2 from the bottom, leaving me a reservoir. I feed every other day until I get some runoff from the hole and that's it...

My tap water is about 7.8 or so. I just use pH drops, the kind used for aquariums. Once I add my nutes my ph is down to 6.0 and I just leave it there. I could probably lower it a little, but so far I haven't. Your pH sounds ok..just make sure not to overwater. Does your soil drain pretty well?

And jaag, I really should be scrogging. I'd get a better yield. I want to re-veg one of my girls and scrog it..not sure if it'll be next run or not. You're right though, with cfl's you want a nice even canopy to utilize what light there is

jaag I'm running coco hempy's, so it's passive hydro. It's so simple it's ridiculous. My plants are short, but I don't have much space..just doing what I can lol.

I only grow with cfl's right now..but a 400 would probably raise my power bill about $20. I don't know where you are, some places it would be more, others less. Man.....with 9ft ceilings i wouldn't veg until 4 ft...maybe 3 and that depends on strain. Indicas then 3 ft..just me. You can...
