My girls are just loving these new lower temps. They are taking off on new growth. I fed them their first nutes yesterday. I used 1 tbs per gallon molasses and 1/3 strength miracle grow house plant food. I plan on feeding every two weeks as I don't want to make the rookie move of over doing it...

I think it's better to have passive intake rather than passive outtake. Just my opinion on the matter. But if heat isn't a huge issue than it should be fine. 90 degrees is a little toasty, my girls didn't like it too much but now that I got the temps down to the 80's the girls are blowing up...

I think the only real reason someone would do auto flower is if they lived in a climate with short growing season like the Midwest and you still wanna grow outdoor. Otherwise I don't see a point cuz they never yield as much.

You can flip them right away. Just keep in mind they will at least double iv size depending on strain.

I'm assuming 600 watts of HID lights? I've found you want your out take fan to be more powerful than intake to create negative pressure that actually sucks the heat out. Right now I have an 9 inch Honeywell turbo force fan ($16 at Target) hooked up to an outlet and it cools my 400 watt...

I got started in a 4ftx4ftx2ft closet for less than $200 NOT including clones. Those set me back another $90 but you can get around that if you use bag seed or have awesome friends that will give you a clone. I think HID lights may be a little much for your tiny space I would check into CFL or...

Sorry, misread your post. I don't think there is much you do to get ready to germinate besides doing it. A basic test to see if it's good is to squeeze it and if it doesn't crush it's good seed ready to germinate.

Even good bud can have a few random seeds in a pound. Just use the paper towel method or soak it in a cup of water for about a day. There is tons of threads on here about germination if you need more info. It's pretty basic just try not to touch them before you get them into your medium.

No wonder you over fed it man. I think you can dial back the nute treatments, your not doing hydro so a good feed every two weeks should cover it.

I like the single seed centre since you can score from multiple seed banks and you can obviously order individual seeds instead of just packs.

High Times says (when using the UFO LED lamp) that the cost savings in electric cost will compensate for the reduced yield if any. Think this was in the November issue. I'm ready to get into LED for veg growth when I got the cash but I think I will always flower under HID.

1 bulb? I don't even see a point to growing at that rate.... I thought almost got 360 watts of 120 watt CFLs but I'm glad I went HID much better light if you can keep the heat down.

I got em as close as they will go unless I ditch the styrofoam plates I have underneath the bags to contain overflow. I might get brave and try to lower the light now that my heat situation is better, I'm scared though! I might wait a day before jumping into that. Thanks for the rep and advice!

Ladies are doing great today. New ventilation fan installed and temps are near perfect now. This is day 3 of 12/12.

I go from 12pm to 12am, this seems to work best with temps for me. For ventilation I am using 2 case fans for intake, an 8inch Honeywell fan modified to fit an exit duct, and two case fans hanging inside to blow on the plants. I just upgraded today from just using 4 case fans (2 in, 2 out)...
