I think 10 plants is perfect for 5x10, 5sqft per plant. DWC buckets are easy to make yourself and they give better results than soil. I think nutes is a trial and error process to find out how you like your plants.

I have buckets made that are 5 gal buckets with net pots and misters under and around the net pot. I have 10 connected to a res with a pump pushing water to the misters and return lines back to the res from the buckets. I haven't ran it yet but ii just felt 24/7 would be too much

Well that comes out to 37.5 watts per square foot so he could probably add 1 or 2 more and be in a better range. 1 more would put him at 46w/sqft and 2 more would put him at 56w/sqft so he is perfectly fine.
