    Is this normal?

Thank you. Those are the part that will form into fruit in a few days, correct?

    Light and colonization

You may be right, I am not saying you are wrong. But I do have a source. "Psilocybin Mushroom Handbook" By L.G. Nicholas and Kerry Ogame. Page 68.

    Light and colonization

I don't know about other types of mushrooms but for cubensis, the reason they should be kept in the dark while colonizing is so that they don't start to pin until you are ready to move them to the fruiting chamber. Light triggers the next stage in its life cycle.

    Curling leaves

Okay, I just pulled out four-one foot T5's that were in there leaving only two 150 watt HPS's. I also adjusted the fans. Maybe that will cool it down a bit. I hope the two 150 watt HPS will be enough for that space.

    Curling leaves

I'm not sure what is causing the curling leaves in the center plant. I've checked through the other posts and I have read that it could be anything from a nitrogen problem to a humidity problem. Any experts able to weigh in and help me out with what is going on here?

    PC Contamination

That is unfortunate. I think I'll let it continue on for now just so that I can gain experience with what contamination looks like.

    PC Contamination

Thanks for the advice! I suppose it can't hurt to let it go. I'll find out if there are any problems when it is time to open it up.

    PC Contamination

I have a photo available now. The top portion of the jar is the colonized rice that was added to inoculate this jar. The colonized rice was pure white and uncontaminated before it was cut out to inoculate this jar. Very shortly after it was added, the white mycellium turned dark blue/black. Is...

    PC Contamination

I inoculated more jars of rice with a previously fully colonized jar. Some of the colonized rice turned dark blue/black. Is this bruising or contamination? I am thinking bruising because the grains were totally colonized but I am not very experienced. Unfortunately, I do not have pictures at the...

    Battlefield 3 let's squad up!

If you ever start playing on PS3 let me know. I'll be migrating to the PS4 as soon as it comes out though.

    Contamination

Thanks. That is what I was afraid of. I was hoping the mycelium would choke it out or maybe it was a funky looking grain of rice. Wishful thinking, I guess.

    Nutrient problems

Thanks for the information! I think over watering may be a problem as well.

    Contamination

I'm fairly new to this. This looks like contamination. Is this salvageable or should this jar be dumped out?

    Nutrient problems

They were given some 24/8/16 nutrients. Maybe this will show some improvement.

    Nutrient problems

This is in soil. PH has not been checked recently, but it is in the 6.5 range.

    Nutrient problems

If plants are displaying brown spots indicating nitrogen deficiency fairly late in flowering, it is safe to add some nitrogen or should the plants be left to finish?
