Agree with the potting soil suggestion. You may also need to buy some pearlite to add, if the soil is very dense.

Back in the day, a buddy of mine had a nice grow in his apt. Just a 48" 8T fixture over some pots (back then that's all we had). One day, his landlord showed his place to a prospective tenant. Don't do it.

So boring - no sudden developments, no huge growth spurts, but then, they're healthy and nothing's eating them. All I'm doing is watering them and waiting for Mid-October (which can't come soon enough :-)) Anyway, the buds are filling in OK, and that's what counts (just wish it were faster . . .).

Another vote for an extended dark period. It'll actually be more than 24 hours, more like 30 - 36, depending on your current and desired times, but the plants will just think it was just a very cloudy day.

One thing you may want to consider is setting your timer so the lights are on at night, rather than the daytime. I'm flowering with lights on at 10:00 PM, off at 10:00 AM. Just give them one extended dark period as you make the switch.

^^^^ True, true true. :-) Like this? How do you attach the fans? I want to add an intake fan when I do some work on my tent after my grow is harvested. I'd been considering one of those inline booster fans from the hardware store, but PC fans would be a lot more compact.
