Yes plants use more of certain nutes then others depending on the cycle they are in..what i do is i follow the directions of nute usage on the labels if i do it correctly the plants wont show any signs of nute burn or deficiency...so as long as u keep the water pH right all u need to do is to...

Ok u did get perlite u could have used the perlite in a tray (without soil) to keep the seedlings...but since u started with soil there is less to it then hydro...keep the soil moist, allways check water pH before watering (pH should be between 6.3 and 6.8 )read the soil label for N-P-K values...

Hey man like ViRedd said u need to pick up a ppm meter and also a pH meter if u plan to continue doing hydro...specially the pH meter cause u dont want the pH to go over 5.8...what i usually do is a start of with half (sometimes less) of the dosage recommended in the nutrient label and slowly...

The leafs that are bending up on the sides show signs of heat stress, ur RH prob (30% is way to low for veg cycle) helps on this to..my sugestion get some ventilation in there asap..btw if that is foil that u have on the growbox, get rid of it foil creates hotspots that can easily damage ur...

Dude ur plants look fine and u can even lower ur light (gradualy and watch how the plants response)...appart from that..happy grow

Aquarium fluoros usually put out a high kelvin values and these aren´t good for plant development...use regular household tubes or cfl´s...u can use a mix of spectrums..check out my sig to have a look at the light color temp chart anything between 3500k and 6400k bulbs will do the...

If u dont get some serious ventiltion you´ll end up with the same prob as the dude that started the topic (u will scorch ur plants)...u need to get an air intake an air exhaust and a fan to keep the air moving around, otherwise u will have some serious heat probs and ur plants wont like...btw...

what u need is VENTILATION....when the plants are still seedlings its ok to leave the light so distant but as the plants get older and bigger u should be able to get that bulb as close as 12" (HPS even closer cause it produces far less heat)...the main issue is, like i said, ventilation, u need...

I use the soak and dry method Huge pots lots of water sometime takes about a week or more to water again...the plants love it and most important u dont get root bound

1" yeah but i have my girls about 6" below a 400w HPS and i can tell u that i have no heat probs...it´s all in the ventilation....if u run a couple of fans u wont have any prob...if a 400w is to big get a 250w HPS...they put out about 25 000 lummens and almost no heat and to get the sme...
