I water by the weight of the pot, not to difficult to figure out. I also completly water through the plants with roughly 1 cup of run off.

Seeds are produced in female flowers aka buds that have been pollinated and come towards the end of the plants life. Pollen sacs are male flowers before they open up usually found a few weeks after the plant is placed in 12/12. The sacs open up and pollinate your bud forming seeds eventually.

How do you move your plants from a veg room to a flower room in hydro ? I can not imagine running two setups, sounds like a lot of work... I also have limited height so I would need to find a way not only to pump water into the sytem but also pump it out to reservoir...

Odds are its not what you were told, that doesn't mean the plant won't produce some funky buds. Just make up your own name and claim it as your own :)

I would hold up before you did this. Try to figure out what light setup you are running. If those are halogen lights you might want to consider a fire extinguisher. IMO halogoen is a big no no for any household and even more so a grow box.
