Dude if u wana grow with led lights then go for it. They have there advantages wen your comparing them with hps. check out the link, it seems like led lighting is the future.

are u sure, i though the ballast would only use what the bulb requires.

okay but wats the deal with led lighting? I got this magazine in the mail saying led lights are gona take over MH and HPS lights. They seem pritty high tech.

i have a 50 watt hps bulb laying around, would it be alright to put it into any 400watt ballast?

No those will work just fine, look for the ones that give off 2700 or 6700 kelvin
