don't worry about how dark the trichomes on the leaves get it's the buds. you only want 1/3-3/4(max) amber trichomes. Every strain is different in timing. I had one of my purp. urkles go almost all amber a couple of weeks ago. I didnt have time to flush but it was still fire. The Sun degrades...
