I hear baking soda can raise pH, I'm not sure at what ratio though. Makes sense to me since baking soda is a base.

McFonz, do you recommend a specific brand of seed starting mix? Like I said, I agree that the less handled the seeds are the better and would much rather throw them in the dirt, it seems more natural that way to me.

Males produce pollen sacs (the balls) and little THC. Seeds are produced from a female that has been pollenated.

I do agree that the less you actually handle the seed, the better chances you'll have. I've had minimal success with just putting seed directly in soil but then again I was working with unproperly stored, old bagseed.

For both, I believe you should wait till at least the 5th set of leaves.

I prefer topping and I followed the guide below. My plants love it and I'm pretty sure yours will to. Uncle Ben's Topping Guide

Personally, I use the paper towel method. I've also tried soaking in water for 24 hours, which worked too.

They really take off after topping. I've noticed the same type of growth on my plants as well. Can't wait for the video.

I guess I was feeling that way because between all my plants I haven't used over maybe a gallon and a half per watering total. I told myself I wasn't going to OVER water and now I'm paranoid that I'm under watering :?:

That's what I love about this 'hobby' - as your plants grow, so do you. I get bored easily when I've 'mastered' something but not the case with this. I'm looking forward to years of happy growth and greenery :weed:

Great advice, I don't have room to keep a mother so this is going to work perfectly for me.

As a side note, I feel like I'm under watering my plants. I basically water slowly until I see the first few drops of run-off and then I stop. Is there anything that can be done with the run-off or is just waste?

The picture is blurry but from what I can make out, it looks male to me. How old is the plant? And, you can start flowering pretty much whenever you feel the plant is 'ready' to. I'm following a grow now that's been 12/12 from seed.

It just started growing on its own. It probably heard my prayers and decided to save me a few bucks. Thanks for all the help though.

Took a look at some pics I had from earlier in my grow and came across this: You can see the little white things in the middle that look sort of similar to your growth. It could be an underdeveloped leaf?? Sadly this plant never got past this point and just died.
