I had to build a cool tube for my 150hps, was way to hot without it. I had no heat problems with 234w of cfl's. Temp. maxes out at 83 degrees 6" below the bulb and the glass is cool to the touch. I'm lovin' it!

My fan is to the right of the bulb, blowing left. Straight in one side, straight out the other. Is this correct? The glass is not hot to the touch, with about 1" between the bulb and the glass all the way around. It tops out at 83 degrees 6" below the glass now.

I just did a DIY Cool Tube for my 150w and it is just a light vent, cabinet has it's own passive intake/fan exhaust. So I did mine intake>fan>light>exhaust, straight across and it seems to be pretty god damn SWEET!! It's on a test run and i'll check it in a little bit and see how well it's...

I think i'm going to try a diy cool tube instead. I picked up a glass tube from the craft store and a 4" 80cfm duct fan. See what I can rig up this weekend.

400cfm is sounding overkill to me. I was looking at something around 100cfm, bathroom fan or the like. That would exchange the air 4 times a minute, does that sound adequate? Or something like the 6" inductor fan, booster fan for duct runs but has a free air flow rating of about 120cfm.

My cabinet is 36"x18"x72" and i'm running a 150w HPS. My box is 27 cubic feet, what CFM fan should I get to vent out hot air. Right now I have a 4" computer fan as the vent and it worked fine with CFL's, but the HPS is too hot. Thanks!

I just got a Sun System 150w hps that has the ballast enclosed in the fixture. I ended up removing the ballast and getting it out of the cabinet and my temps. dropped about 5 degrees. For that alone, get something with a remote ballast.

Thanks Davey Jones. Figured it was fine, there cheap too. Upgraded my light (234w cfl----> 150w hps+cfl as needed) and soil (Hyponex cheapo ---> FFHF and FFOF) for this grow, perhaps FF nutes too, depending on cash. Got a WW bean in the soil a few hours ago. :peace:

Picked up a Sun System 150w HPS and it came with a Ultra Sun bulb. Is that a good bulb? Are there better bulbs? Thanks, stepped up from CFL's. :)

It was going to be for next seasons grow. Figured if he started it at the same time as his others, give him a little something before regular harvest time. Any thing I really need to know about auto's over regular seeds? I don't even think he know's that autoflowering strains exsist. lol

I got a free Kannabia Matero Blue Auto seed and I want to give it to a buddy who grows outdoors. I really don't know anything about autos so not sure if growing it outdoors is a good idea. Any idea?

I was a little worried about my drying conditions, as my fish tank adds to the humidity. But it has been around 73 degrees and RH of about 50-55% in the drying cab, so happy about that. I know i'll be happy with the smoke, unless there is some major change from the test nugs to the finished...

I just finished my first grow in soil and while it started out with a pH of 6.7, at some point it shot up to 7.2. I pH my water to 6.5-6.7. Not sure why, but a flush would not bring it down. How would you lower your soil pH if your already into flowering?

This stuff has a strong fuel smell to it. Is that indication of anything?

There was a total of 234w of cfl. I probably could have went a longer with her, but I was happy with the high I got and this is more of a 'get one under my belt' grow. I have a white widow or a white siberian for my next run, but will get a 150w HPS for flowering and yield will be more...

Popped a seed outside in mid May with no intentions of growing it out. More or less wanted to see if it would sprout. It did, and after a rough few months indoors, she is harvested. Overwatering, nute burn, more nute burn, light smashing her and splitting the main stem shortly into flowering...

Thanks man, it feels good! I don't have a scale so don't know the weight. Might pick one up though, think there pretty cheap. I really don't think it's going to be all that much, maybe a Q? But I really have no idea. I will try and get a dry weight.

HARVEST DAY I harvested today on day 54 of 12/12. I went by the trichs on the buds and the results of a couple test nugs. Trichs were mostly cloudy with some clear. Got a really nice heady high (which is what i'm going for). Defineatly better than the bag it came from. I remember I wasn't...
