    Intake OR exhaust fan?

Which is considered more important? I've read some people suggesting that exhaust is more important, but that doesnt make much sense to me. I've been using a really large intake fan that pulls a lot of air, it will both pull in fresh/cold air and new h2o. The room might get a bit colder if i...

Lumens, Lux, and Adding It all Up

space is no problem if that's the only reason not to use CFL's mixed with a HPS. I'm just wondering if it could lead to a spectrum that is less good for flowering and if it could cause smaller buds becaue of that.

Lumens, Lux, and Adding It all Up

Could mixing CFL's (165w red spectrum and 60w blue spectrum) + a 600W HPS be, possible, bad in flowering? Could it lead to a less "balanced" spectrum that isn't particulary good for flowering and it would work better with just the 600w HPS? Thanks.

    Fan or not when drying?

I find the guides i've read a bit paradoxal, they say the drying area should be well ventilated (lots of air in/out) but they also say air is not good since it will break down more of the plant material to CBN (which i absolutely dont want). So, what's better, just hanging them inside a closet...

    ventilation issues. grow closet.

i'm solving it by just blowing in air + using a tank of CO2 (yeast/sugar).. no odor outside, 34 plants in flower.

    Burned tips?

Anyone have a clue what this means.. day 13 under 12/12. Day 30 from seed. None of the other 15 plants has this.. overfertilized? As you can see it's just the new leaves that looks burned at the tips. Should i flush the soil?

    600w HPS SOG grow

Day 24 from seed, day 6 under 12/12: Got rid of 3 males, i think i saw 2 others, but i'm not 100% yet, will check again tomorrow evening. My experience from previous grows are that males shows up first and they are usualy taller, seems like they mature and grow a bit faster than females...

Which way do you plant the seed???

That's the part of the plant you normaly make hash of since the amount of THC is very small compared to the buds.

    600w HPS SOG grow

Setup: flowering room: 600w HPS (Sylvania Grolux bulb). I also have some CFL's. Not sure how I will use them yet.. Maybe using the 3 x 55w for some extra aid when flowering and the rest (cold whites) for clones/mother(s) (not sure if 85w will be enough.) : 1 x 32w 5500K CFL 1 x 30w 6500K CFL 1...

How long to veg when SOG?

Thanks for the replies. About cutting off the lower branches, doesnt that stress the plant quite a bit (+ it needs to heal?) isnt it better just to bind down branches that sticks out too much (more work but..) I've fixed lights for clones and 1-2 mothers. I think i go for 25 days vegging as i...

How long to veg when SOG?

Is 25 days (counting from when seeds sprouted) ok? I have 30 plants under 1 600w HPS, i'm guessing maybe around 12-15 will be females. I'm also very curious, will the top/"main" bud be smaller on a plant that has only vegged for, lets say, 2 weeks compared to 1 month? Or is the only advantage...

whats your humudity at right now?

Just put tapwater into a bowl or bucket depending on grow area. Spray them once in a while if you know your humidity is low, but don't do it directly after watering them, too much water kills them.

whats your humudity at right now?

Bucket(s) of water, a fan standing behind them. That's a cheap alternative that works very well and it's how a humidifier works in practice (at least the one i have)...
