    Reverse Osmosis help

I agree that it really doesn't matter if it's 7ppm or 10. I am using the filter that I use because at one time, I used to make RO/DI water and the lower the TDS going to the DI resin, the longer it lasts. Now that I have no need for DI water, I don't think I need to be making such pure RO...

Dimmer switch on a 1000w light fixture???

Dimmer switch, no. Some electronic ballasts have built in switches for different bulbs (I can run my 600w ballast at 400w).

    Hang Dry vs Paper Bag

I always put a piece of plastic grating on the bottom of the paper bag; keeps the flowers from touching the paper. I also double bag.

    Reverse Osmosis help

If you don't mind my asking, what is the TDS of your incoming tap water and of your RO water? I am curious as to the rejection rate of the RO filter (some are 90% which makes more water faster.) Unfortunately, the lower size tubing does not create additional pressure; pressure builds upstream...

    Reverse Osmosis help

You would be able to use the setup right out of the box. Couple things to keep in mind: Do you know the water pressure of your house?? Does it get cold where you live? Just about every single RO filter on the market intended for home use is rated at 70psi (ie: 98% rejection at 70psi)...

What bloom nutes to use? 5-10-5?

I'd use the 5-10-5 over the 2-15-11 for flowering.

I heard I can use a car battery to power my 400W.

A car battery would operate a 400w bulb for 30 minutes, max. Converting DC to AC isn't exactly efficient.

    Reverse Osmosis help

Spectrapure is the Cadillac of RO systems. Which ever unit you choose to purchase, I suggest adding a booster pump. Even with that, making RO water is a slow process.

Humidors can they help cure this chit and keep it fresh WHATCHA TINK

It's not the box that keeps the humidity, it's the humidification devices that are placed inside the humidors. If you wish to use a humidor for storage, I suggest you "season" it or else it will dry your buds in no time. It takes about two weeks to properly season a humidor. I keep my cigars...

    carbon filter question

You can, but if you are trying to eliminate odors created from the grow space, you would want the carbon filter on the inside.

fkin pissed. fuckin airstones... fuckin hydro

I made my own air stones; I got the idea from another member on this board, and I can't remember who it was. 2 or 3 feet of 3/4 inch vinyl tubing. 1 --- 3/4 inch male to male adapter 2 ---3/16 inch brass fittings 1 small bag of aquarium gravel All this stuff can be purchased at...

    reverse osmosis

I'd take pics, but I work away from home during the week. The RO unit is in my laundry room. I put a "Y" adapter on the cold water spigot for the washing machine; one supplies the washing machine, the other supplies the RO filter. Directly behind the incoming water is a drain where you would...

Dyna-Gro KLN a synthetic replacement for Great White/H&G Root Excelerator?

I've been a DG fan for a very long time, but I have never found any need to use their KLN. This is not to say that it doesn't do anything, I just prefer to use some diluted Foliage Pro on seedlings. One less thing to buy, one less thing to add.

wtf? why aren't these finishing... day 71 pics

It's because your plants don't give a shit about flowering times that were posted on the internet. They tell you when they are ripe, not the other way around. Real patience comes after 70 days of flowering. The leaves still look good, so you are doing very well for a first timer.

    how to "up" the PPM?

I agree with HB; I mix my solutions to 850ppm and it rises to 1000 by the end of the week (when the solution gets changed.) Less is definitely more and it is a good practice to give your plants some room for error.

a reason for living other than growing dank??

Corals are animals that live in the oceans; they form reefs in shallow waters. This is NOT my tank, just an example of how it's done properly. http://reefkeeping.com/joomla/index.php/current-issue/article/75-tank-of-the-month
