    Looking for a flood table

I build all my setups from bins purchased at Dummy Depot. My reservoirs are heavy duty 28 gallon storage bins (I can stand on the lids!!) and my flood tables are plastic tool boxes with the lids removed (very heavy duty!!) The flood table sits on the lid of the reservoir; just drill two holes...

    SmartPots

Love the product, HATE the name. I fill them with Sun Leaves Rocks in an ebb and flow setup and have had nothing but excellent results. I use the 3 gallon pots as they are the largest that will fit inside my setup.

    Dynagro is under-rated as fuck

I've been using DG for a while. I don't follow their chart for two reasons. First, I haven't found any plants that like 1200 ppm. Second, Bloom turns my plants yellow. I use the Foliage Pro (9-3-6) for vegging and Grow (7-9-5) for flowering. In 20 gallons of RO water: 100ml of Protekt...

CAl-Mag and RO question - Should be easy

I use it every time I mix up a batch of nutrients because I always start with RO water. It's not going to hurt anything. Are you sure you have nitrogen toxicity??? (very odd thing to have with cannabis.) You are using a GH feeding schedule, so I am curious as to how much fertilizer you are using.

How to you feel about smart pots?

I use Smart pots (hate the name "smart") filled with Sunleaves rocks. Excellent combination for sure.

S\witching from ro water to tap?

I use the waste water to fill my washing machine; other than being 25% higher in salts, the water has no chlorine and has been filtered to 0.2 microns.

    Why Grow with Hydro?

I am away from home at least five days out of the week and cannot maintain soil at the optimum moisture level required for vigorous growth.

    Smart Pot Funk

On mine, it's just mineral deposits from the water. It's more evident at the top where the water level rises when the system floods. I get a bit of algae growth on the sides as well.

    T5 lighting?

There are two types of T5 lights; T5 and H.O. T5 (high output) and they are completely different animals. The second thing to know is the reflector; there are many crappy ones (they sell for low, low prices) and the computer designed parabolic reflectors (not so low, low prices.) The...

    RO System

If you are going to spend the money on an RO system, I would suggest a 4 stage rather than a 3 stage. The reason is this: Each filter must protect the filter downstream to it. If you start off with a 1 micron sediment filter, it's probably going to clog quickly; it will also pass particles...

    UV sterilizer

There are a few things to consider prior to using UV light filtration. First would be, what do you want to kill? A close second would be, how much UV light does it take to kill.....whatever it is you want to kill. It also helps to know that a typical UV light source will degrade to about 50%...

    Best Nirvana Strain?

Papaya. If you can forgo the silly name (it doesn't taste anything like papaya), it's one serious strain. I'm a fan of most of the strains listed above; it's hard to choose one. I don't think you can go wrong no matter which you choose.

A question for all you hydro guys.

Which is odd, because our system of weights and measurements here in the US is called "Imperial" and is taken from.........the Brits!! Anyhow, I keep my reservoir at room temperature.

    Smart pots vs Air pots

I've been using Smart pots (damn what a stupid name!!!) for long time with nothing but excellent results. I fill them with Sunleaves Rocks (vastly superior to Hydroton, in my opinion) and use a flood and drain setup. Since they are less than five bucks each, they are disposed once they are...

    Help on relays

It is recommended you get a relay because it's a safer way to turn on high energy appliances. A high initial inrush of current can cause arcing (ever see a shock when you plug in or unplug an appliance when it's on?) Here in the 21st century, it is suggested that you use a light timer with...
