What would be similar legal grow?

The loneliness of a grow op can wear at someone, especially when you get proud of your home rigged setup. Fortunately there are the forums where you can vent some of that need to talk about your babies :D

    Quick reservoir pH question

I'm not an expert, but if I were to guess, I'd have to say that our water originally had some carbonic acid in it to have a pH of 6 and was released either due to temperature or agitation causing it to climb. If the water had nothing in it, the pH would be 7.0.

    Quick reservoir pH question

CO2 in the air will enter and exit the water depending on the temperature, which in turn changes the pH. Again, it takes an understanding of equilibrium reactions to fully understand what's going on, but here's the reaction in a nutshell. CO2 + H2O <-> H2CO3 <-> [H+] + [HCO3-] Depending on...

    Quick reservoir pH question

This is just my assumption, however logic would dictate that if the plants are smaller, they're consuming less water, and the pH swings will be smaller as a result. It also could have to do with the kinds of nutrients that the plants are absorbing during what phase they're in. Also, as you...

    Quick reservoir pH question

If you use a pH up or down product, it will buffer the solution. Without going into the boring chemistry behind it, a buffered solution will change at a slower pace. Before you add the up or down, it will fluxuate quickly.

anyone using a flipflop for lights?

Exactly what I was thinking. You could split your crop schedules up and would only have to buy half the ballasts (which can get quite expensive.)

should i/can i switch from HPS to T-5

Only justification for T5 over HPS is a short SOG, or a SCROG and the convenience factor. Even then, I'd recommend several small wattage HPS spread out evenly over a big one, and I'd keep the ballasts a ways from the grow. The spectrum that HPS emits is so much better that even with less...

anyone using a flipflop for lights?

That's brilliant! If you know how to wire, you can run two lights off one ballast. Why didn't I think of that?

Leaf Problem, Please help... ( with pictures)

A looks like Phosphorous deficiency in veg, B looks like Cal/Mg deficiency or nute burn.

How important is ventilation when using CO2 ????

Since you're in flowering, it looks like phosphorous deficiency. P can get locked out at pH levels of 4.0-5.5. You should be shooting for a pH of 6-7. Try upping a high P fertilizer (most bloom ferts are high in P).

How important is ventilation when using CO2 ????

Depends. Pretty much every gas sold to burn contains a small amount mercaptan to make the gas detectable by smell. It should be in such small amounts however that it shouldn't hurt the plants. The other typical products of combustion will be CO2, H2O, CO and some nitrogen oxides. If enough...

    missing smell problem

You might be lucky. Stinky strains can arouse suspicion if just a whiff exits your grow room, but the relatively odorless strains are perfect for the stealth grow. I would still have either an ozone generator or a carbon filter to take care of any potential odor however. There are some...

How important is ventilation when using CO2 ????

I just try to keep air circulation high. By changing the total air about once every 2-3 minutes the plants will be getting all the CO2 it needs, and it's a lot less complicated than a CO2 system.

    These good for first grow?

I wouldn't use an autoflower for indoors, simply because you can't have mothers to take clones off of that means you have to make seeds to propagate your crop. Other strains can be sent into flower when you want them too simply by changing the light schedule.

Now that's purpletastic! Is it a rare pheno or can I expect some purply goodness from a normal batch of seeds?

What type of fertilizer should I use

General Hydroponics is a safe bet. Fox Farms is highly regarded as well. Advanced Nutrients is expensive, however they have high reviews from everyone who uses it.

    MH vs. CFL question

CFLs are way cheaper, and fine for vegging. Your growth will be a littl e bit slower per watt, but really, what's a couple of extra days? I highly recommend HPS for flowering, or a T5 Scrog, but CFLs can still give you decent results. Aint no shame in keeping your grow simple :D
