The "green" smell has nothing to do with early harvest. Either: A: nutrients are still stored in the bud itself B: it wasn't dried in proper temp/humidity usually marijuana smells like hay. It's very tough to get it down perfect. Before you even chop the plant, a solid and perfect game plan...

Growing an illegal drug is always something to worry about it. There's always a chance of law inforcement seeing your grow. Although small, it's still illegal. Not trying to alarm, but that^^ mindset is why people get caught. Always be on the lookout and be carefull.
