I've always found it gross when my buddy's and I were smoking and the bong water got warm, I couldn't imagine it hot. Maybe I'll try it but ice water is the shit.:) bongsmilie

Cold no doubt. What do you mean by the mist effect? The cold water will help alot cooling the smoke making it less harsh. I've recently started to add ice and it also helps. Emptying the bong of the excess water when the ice starts to melt is a pain though.
