cyber is right you can grow as much in one cycle with an HID than in 2 cycles of cfls. and your bill wont be very much higher. its less than running a desktop computer all the time

how close do you have it from your canopy? you have a 6" hood with a 250w shouldnt get too hot. how hot is it outside? room temp?

what size is your aircooled hood? 250w shouldn't get too hot and i'm wondering if you should just go with a 600w with an aircooled hood so you dont need to worry about getting 2 of everything for the 250w's. you need a decent CFM rated fan to get that hot air out. 188cfm and up should work. try...
