First rule of cloning: Let it do its rooting!. and I am sure you can guess what I am going to say about the 2nd rule :P If you have low success rate why not make a small bubble cloner, they have very good success rate.

I am just thinking does this only apply to soil grow because there are certainly limited water and nutes available to the plant and during the dark hours they can take up the nutes better because they don't need to use it right away. In a hydro nutes is available 24x7 and would suit 24x7 lights...
