You have UV CFLs? :blsmoke:
I have been interested in the same thing. I can only assume that any UV source will help improve the grow, but I always wondered if anyone had any real-world results using them.
Have you checked out the color of the trichomes?
I'd say, let it go at least another week, AT LEAST. But it's really tough to tell without knowing how far along in the flowering cycle it is.
I usually wait for the pistils to begin receeding into the flowers, at the point which the calyxes stop...
Hey, nice looking setup you have there!
I just decided for this flowering period, to run the lights-on at night. That has helped with the high temps immensely. Especially here in sunny, hot Cali.
As far as tomatoes, just one tomato alone will surpass an ounce, let alone a watt! I grow tomatoes indoors using soil less, and I learned, the bigger the pot, the better. 5-gallons+ preferably.
Not sure if this will help, but here's a forum post from someone who grew Black Russian:

Hey there!
So you have a total of 6 CFLs, for roughly 120 watts. No, you definitely won't need all of that light just yet. It's best to start with lower amounts, and increase the light as your seedling grows more leaf sets/nodes to utilize the light. Otherwise, the plants will be stressed out...
I hear you. OG Kush isn't know to be a big producer, but it does make up for low yield with superb quality buds! And you can only get better by tweaking each grow, and getting even more with each harvest. I'd estimate you'll get at least 3-4 ounces per plant. Just a wild assumption though.
Lol. That's a good thing! Yeah, your N-P-K is pretty good...low enough so you don't have to really worry about burning your plants unless you really "hit" 'em hard!
No problem! Best of luck with your grow...I'm growing OG Kush next! My last OG Kush was a fake, cheap knockoff. Lol.
I can tell by your pic that you have the REAL DEAL!
Where did you get the seeds from? Were they from "bagseed?"
It appears that the plant with the seeds is what is commonly called a "hermaphrodite." It grew male parts (stamen) and those parts fertilized the pistils, which then formed calyxes that contain the seeds.
It's always best to check for...
It all depends on what stores you have in your area! Do you have places that carry more than Miracle Gro products? I know in my area, it's a long-shot. I always have to order online via eBay...etc. Home Depot seems to have more than anyone else, so you should try them if possible. They usually...
Since you flushed your plants in soil, you most likely released even more nutrients into the mix, which could have compounded the problem. I'd wait a week or so and see how the plants recover.
Avoid giving them any more nutrients for at least a week, and just keep a close eye on them to make...
CFL's catching fire? Smoking?
Hmmm...that's a unlikely event. I'd imagine you'd have to really, really be trying hard to cause damage (or entirely neglectful and wreckless) in order to have them catch fire or start smoking.
I have no experience with T5's for growing but I use them in my home...
They look good so far!
One thing I would recommend is that you get some perlite, and mix it in at about a 30% ratio with the soil you're using. That way, you will get proper drainage, and it will be much harder to over water.
Do you know the N-P-K/nutrient content of the soil you're using? It's...
