1st. grow need advise W/ pics

tyedye good job so far... make sure the potting soil doesn't have any nutrients in it. in those first pics the seedlings look a little burnt. they are very sensitive to nutes and don't really need them until at least a week old. worm castings, perlite and peat moss make a great starter mix for...

What's Wrong? I'm getting frustrated. PICS

It's definitely dead. Time to plant more seeds. It's ok to soak them in water until they sink, that means they've absorbed enough moisture to begin rooting. But you probably don't need a humidity dome; if you use one make sure you remove it when it pokes its head above soil.

Small closet CFL grow - Could someone check I'm doing this right?

Good job. Don't water once per day, that is probably the reason for slow growth. Cannabis likes dry-ish soil for the most part. And a huge pot like that takes much longer to dry out. But you're using coco so it won't hold as much water. Also don't feed them until they are a few nodes in and...

    LED heat VS HPS heat?

LEDs are not very hot directly under the light and generally don't heat up a room very much. They radiate heat upwards into a heatsink, which gets blown out of the fixture and circulated around the room. They do get hot if they are run with a higher current than they are rated for (and most do)...

Max yeild for this setup? suggestions please.

I don't think you should worry about SOG or SCROG or yield with your first grow. Just get a couple females going and see what happens. You will probably screw up somewhere else, probably during veg or early flower, that will trump the grow method and yield expectations. There are things you...

    Molasses???

Molasses is simply a sugar source for the microhizzae in the soil. If you run hydro or chemical nutes it's probably not going to help much. In organic soil, however, it's great. The micros eat the sugar and release the NPK for the plant. I use it every few waterings with good results.

    HPS for seedlings?

Keep it a foot or three away, should be fine. They will enjoy the increased intensity over CFL.

Sea of green compared usual growing.

The flowering time should not change with the amount of plants. A 70 day strain, if it's a clone, will still finish at the same time under the same environmental conditions, SOG or not. Your question is difficult to answer without knowing more about your room, lighting and strain. SOGing is...

    Would You Grow?

This is all well and good, but there is also something to be said about being cool with cops. If you just don't talk, refuse to show your id or cooperate they will get suspicious and testy. The OP may have diffused the situation by showing them the id; if he had refused they may have gotten...

    Using electronic/computer posts as evidence?

I think if the ip addresses are contained in a forum located in a different country, it would be much much more difficult for them to nab you. And way more work. It's not like they sit there and intercept the post/pictures as it goes zooming by. They have to get the site to release the information.

Do these LED lights even work??

The newer lights have higher efficiency and better spectrum so I'd stick with those. Stay away from the first link, 14w isn't going to be nearly enough for a meaningful grow. The Blackstar is okay, but I see mixed results with those and other cheaper units. What's your budget/how much do you...

1st ever grow, 1st ever journal, All tips and advise welcomed

Great job on your first grow, you really got the hang of it :) I wouldn't leave molasses in water... just to be safe. Probably there is no problem with it, but I wouldn't want anything unnecessary growing in there.

Testing Hans panel: 56watt Cree xp-e/ Lumiled rebel power==== Let's talk efficiency

Also he's got a much larger fan blowing directly at the heatsink, so it's kind of a silly argument

    Self-made LED panel general discussion

HPS is successful not only because it's loaded with green/yellow, but because of the intensity of the red/orange spectrum. It's not optimal, but the plant still uses it for bud production. According to the study I posted on the previous page, all those flowering plants use well any light from...

    Self-made LED panel general discussion

Now I remember where I had read this. Don's LED faq does a good job addressing it. Check the links to the study where they tested 33 flowering plants, about halfway down the page. Here are the files. You can see the wavelength graph is weighted toward the red. But what is interesting to take...
