    Supporting plant structure

Ok, At my location, the fall can bring seriously unsettled weather, and I need to help a buddy out. All of his plants have been topped for two or 4 colas, so they all have a "Y" shaped joint anywhere from 5-10" from the ground. They are all quite tall, 5-7' and he's worried about the plants...

    What's better, synthetics or organics?

Cheaper than synthetics? I suppose if you are sourcing your own amendments it can be, but man oh man are the hydro shops organics not cheap.

    What's better, synthetics or organics?

Been lucky enough to not deal with any insects other than the occasional fungus gnat and a grass hopper or aphid here and there. They are just good food for thr pet spiders, got at least on on every plant. He enjoys watching them grow almost as much as he does the plants.

    What's better, synthetics or organics?

Ive heard MJ LOVES the red label MG tomato food. it's dirt cheap too. That particular product is what actually started this whole debate for me. I was told a low low dose (less than 25% of whats recommended) every single watering,as opposed to a stronger weekly feeding is best.

    What's better, synthetics or organics?

The biggest problem I've seen with the organic N sources is they attract critters at the point when critters will still eat your plants. The fish emulsions attract raccoons, which are the worst because they will climb a fence. Soy bean meal or extract, another high n source tends to attract...

    What's better, synthetics or organics?

Im thinking a similar plan will be used next year. I saw a serious N def this year trying to use solely organics in veg. I think a reasonable low dose slow release source of nitrogen would be a big help, but the guanos and seaweed extracts are just so good in flower to use anything else IMHO.

    What's better, synthetics or organics?

Im a big advocate of chix wire, it's a pain getting it out there, but once it's out there, it's out there. After the season is done, fold it flat, bury it in the brush, and let the snow cover it up! The longer it's out there, the rustier it gets which makes it almost invisible.

    What's better, synthetics or organics?

Ive read a lot about heavy metals in organics from the manures and guanos. So your answer is a little of both? Politician, I like it!

    What's better, synthetics or organics?

Thats awesome and sounds very much familiar! I hope all your hard work pays off for you. I've seen issues using molasses in the compost teas. I think a thing to be very careful of is making sure the tea brews long enough to fully use up the sugars in the molasses. No amount of chicken wire will...

They most certainly do, nothing a little chicken wire can't fix though.

    What's better, synthetics or organics?

Greetings, Help me settle a debate I was having with a friend! This is a question specifically for the guerilla growers out there. While I appreciate the input of the back yard outdoor growers, I'm more interested in the opinions of folks who need to carry water/soil/nutes a ways in order to...

is there any good way to find out what if any activities take place in a local woods?

If you can't afford game cameras, you could always try leaving some quarters on the trail, or a couple of single dollar bills. If they get picked up, you know someone's been there.

LST is short for low stress training. It's when you tie the plant down sideways or in a spiral to encourage more even growth.
