yeah i use the soil blend but my buddy uses the hydro and its great but the guy at the hydro store recommends liquid karma for the micronutrients you need if you can get bud candy by advanced nutrients... i swear it is amazing

and it made transplanting a breeze

thats actually the dome they came in... it worked great for me i watered once to prepare them, and after that i just heavily sprayed the pellets when they got a little dry, i have a small sprayer and it made things easy to control
