Ya but for 10 bucks on ebay they are worth it, if you have a heavy hood they work great, or you can use a clamp to stop the line from going back in if your spring is to strong, or just takem apart like dude said.

Using 2 250w hps for flowering would be better than a 400w hps because of the extra lumens and your light would be spread out more and you could get more plants. Of course they sell conversion bulbs. Try and google a 250w conversion bulb from mh to hps.

For 1 thing they are T-8s with a 7800 k spectrum so stop callen em T-12s !! You have to take the protective cover off the light dumass lol Ive posted a pice of my new babies under 4 lights. Less than a week and they look good to me take a look. And Im only talking for vegging in a small closet...
