Generally you are right, though most of the plants out there are a hybrid of both indica and sativa. When it's harvested can also influence the nature of the high. The more amber trichomes (which show up late in flower), the more sedative the effect.

Look forward to the pics. Mine are at 10-1/2 weeks and you're right, they could go another week. I've chopped down half the plant so I'll have a range of harvest times between 9-1/2 and 11-1/2 weeks. How was it at 9-1/2?

I've grown out LA Confidential (DNA), LA Woman (DNA), and Blue Mystic (Nirvana). The Nirvana had a 60% germination rate, the other two were 100%. No problems once sprouted, no herms, males, etc. I've heard Greenhouse seeds have herm problems, but DNA & Nirvana were solid quality girls for me.

AK is an amazing smoke. One of my all time favorites. Never had white Russian so I can't compare, but I can promise that the AK will not dissapoint.

Whose version of AK47 did you buy? My experience with serious seeds AK47 is that its extremely strong, but leaves me energized and quite functional. Definely big Sativa percentage blended in. Easy as anything to grow, decent yeilds but not extraordinary, indica flower time, great freaking...

My LAW is going towards 10 weeks of flower now. Don't see much amber yet so it may go to 11 weeks. The main cholas (I topped it) are huge, fat multi oz piles of flowers. Assuming decent strength, she's a keeper.

Nothing wrong with autos if you can't control the photoperiod. It's a good option. You'll sacrifice yeild and potency compared to the best photoperiod plants, but decent smoke quickly is sometimes more important. For me, my odor control and security enclosure makes it easy to manage...

Absolutely 2-4 plants can smell up your whole house, possibly even smell it outside. If you don't want your house to stink and you don't have charcol or ozone odor control, get some type of northern lights. NL #5 is supposed to be a fantastic high a d very low odor.

No freeking clue, though if it's like the original, you're going to need a lot of vertical space. If you don't have it, I would top the plants. BTW, nice to see another 907 resident.

I can confirm the low yeild. Chopped my la con this morning. I grew an LA woman next to her that yeilds like mad, so if the high is similar, it's a better choice. Depending on how the LA con is after the cure, I may grow it again since it is a gorgeous plant with awesome smell. Yeild isn't...

AK 47 is an awesome 1st time strain for a lot of reasons. Easy to grow, short flowering period, one hit effectiveness and very upbeat paranioa free high. It's a regular in my garden. It's also a bit of a classic.

I forgot to add, the crop I grew didn't have rot issues (live in a very dry climate). The cured smell and taste are really good but I'm hard pressed to find any berry characteristics. More earthy with asofoetida overtones and a little spicy. VERY smooth. I can see how mold could be an issue...

I've got one at 8 weeks now. Probably push it to 10 or 11 based on the last batch harvested at 9. I've got some LA con & LA Woman at the same point that I'll test at 9 for comparison.

Thanks for the data. I think I harvested mine around 30% amber. I didn't find it particularly strong, more like average. Since I'm using it as a sleep aid, I'll let the next batch go another week or so. .

Your experience with Blue Mystic is a lot like mine. I find it works pretty well as an evening smoke provided you don't have to do much. Can be kind of trippy in large quantities.
