Used UC Roots hydroponic mineral de scaler for years. I need a replacement or a way to make something myself

If I didn't buy 25# a year of cal-hypo for my pool, I would just make a cheap electrolysis machine using an old 12V PSU and a couple carbon graphite rods. I would also use potassium or calcium chloride instead of sodium since it's going into a nutrient solution.

The fishing thread ( not about fish fertilizer)

A group of friends and I rented Clingstone for the week. Hopefully I can pull a few nice stripers from Narraganset, but I'll take a few tautog or porgy as well. Gonna gear up and head down there in a bit. If the weather and fishing suck's we'll probably just roll it up and play Hold'em for the...

    Whats your opinion of coco

You might want to look into Promix a bit more then. Depending on the perlite, vermiculite and peat ratios of the type of Promix used, container volume and plant size, you can water anywhere from twice a day to every 5 days.

    Whats your opinion of coco

I'm personally not a fan of coco, I think it's more hassle than a HP buffered peat growers mix.

What do these pic tell an experienced eye?

You always want to feed and flush in soilless. That plant is looking pretty good now. I would stick with the .8EC next time you get dryback.

    doublejj's 2024 adventure

Jeez...I never thought about drones Not surprised......the days of serve and protect are long gone. If only they spent that much time and money on crimes that have actual victims. Harass and collect is the main job of modern law enforcement.

    doublejj's 2024 adventure

I was out in California visiting friends back in the dark times after a work injury laid me off. They ran the usual 1/4-acre guerilla grows in a few secluded locations. The main thing that terrified them were Mexican Pirates. They told me stories of friends that went out to their crops to be...

    Leaf issues.

Looks like an average outdoor plant to me. It might be in a bit too much shade, it's a bit leggy.

    How much recovery time?

I let my outdoor plants get bone dry in mid-summer before. The tender new growth never recovered fully and grew all mangled looking. It was about 7-10 days before new healthy growth started popping out.

    Is this caterpillar damage?

Definitely leafhoppers, they get my plants every year. Nothing a strong plant won't grow through.

    How much recovery time?

I would trust it when the new growth develops normally. If it's twisted and mangled looking let the plant recover longer.

Handy App for people who run cal-hypo in their systems.

Orenda Technologies | Proactive Pool Chemistry Can also be used to calculate SH, if people need to use it in a pinch.

What do these pic tell an experienced eye?

EC is EC, doesn't matter how you get there. RO+calmag+fert at 500 is the same as well water+fert at 500. As long as your final solution is in the ballpark of 100N-30P-120K-80Ca-40Mg plants will be happy.

What do these pic tell an experienced eye?

I don't know if this is your first DTW grow, but here are some basics. Don't water in small amounts. When the media is very light and just barely damp, water to 20% runoff and dump runoff immediately. The top should be dry, but you should feel a little moisture if you stick a pinky finger down...

    Ph up

You could throw some aragonite (crushed coral / mollusk shells) in a fine media bag and toss that into the rez to buffer.

    Ph up

You need carbonates in your water to buffer, so I would go with the K2CO3.

Coco coir vs other growing mediums what’s your preference

I grow everything in professional peat mixes now with 3 part dry fertilizer. I find it very simple to use the buffered mixes. I mix up a few barrels of nutes a week and the timer pumps into 1/4 sprayers every morning. Price is very reasonable, the local agricultural supplier charges about $25 a...

What do these pic tell an experienced eye?

I think it's the type of media and amount. Bark mix will be heavy and hold lots of water. You also have a lot of it for a small plant. I've found doing drain to waste you want full dryback in 1-2 days. If your plant is sitting wet for 6 days, you need to lighten the mix with perlite and/or use...
