I know with my experiments, the growth has not stopped at all. The the leaves come back pretty fast. After the first 4-5 weeks of flowering leaf regrowth is rather slow however.

Personally I take clones, root them and flower one right away. That way there is no risk with the mother. Re-vegging can result in rather weird looking plants (Monster cropping for example).

Kaya gold is a strain that normally grows in rougher climates. I have heard of some strains that grow in colder temps turning purple. Perhaps this one was further from the light? I know that Midnight Kush turns purple in colder temps when grown outdoors. Just a thought.
