the direct sunlight will help it, compared to shaded light, but either way, do what you think is best. if the plants don't seem to do well in the direct light with the sun, then move them to the shade. If if doesn't seem to affect them, then leave then in the direct sunlight.

never start with full strength. especially for young plants. start when you think the plants are old enough, usually people wait about 2-3 weeks before giving them anything, and always only half strength to start. then slowly work your way up to full strength if the plants prove they can handle it.

I use rockwool......... really easy to use. you can't over water rockwool (in theory). the rockwool holds in a lot of air allowing the roots to breath. use the rockwool, you shouldn't have a problem.

need more info, but I would wait for the water to dry up before adding any more, could be over watered already. and it's alway better to add more lights.

you can top it whenever you feel like it. many say you have to wait so long before you can, but really that's bullshit, as long as there is one set of true leaves left on the plant (after topping), then your fine. also, i absolutely recommend cloning. it's ready to clone whenever you can clone...
