I would avoid scotts regular potting mix, if that kind of stuff is all you can find by you at least go with the mg organic mix(also made by scott). I have used it several times and had no problems with it I just like the steins water retention better.

I second desertrat. for the best results use both all the way through.

not the ideal type of bulb for growing if you want to go cheap then buy some cfls. if you want to grow for real buy a h.i.d. ballast even if you only want to go small you can get an 175 watt hps for pretty cheap from High Tech Garden Supply

looks nice and healthy, but I second the above add a couple more 23 watt cfls or replace the two with higher wattage cfls and you will be happy with the results.
