    if you start with ro water you won't have the wild swings in ph after you use your nutes, the best thing for me ever was switching to ro water after that I no longer have to chase ph... ahhhh.... so much easier now.

    You should google ask lucas marijuana, and find the ask lucas thread he goes over this in detail and his jist is if you are using the correct nutes, additives are a waste of time... just his opinion but after reading his thread it makes alot of sense and the thread has tons of useful info check...

    I had the same thing in my bubble buckets, I had three 2 where males one female, I pulled all of them apart and what I could not pull I cut, my female looked fine afterwards and that was like 15-25 days ago and all is well in flower now. good luck

    I think your roots should be fine, I have the same setup as you and have had no problems. (knock on wood) I actually do not subscribe to the air gap thing also and keep my buckets filled within about 2-3 inches of the top (so there is a small airgap I guess) and my plants have been perfect...

    TDS and pH meters

    hanna 98130 (i also think there is a 98129 not sure) it is a combo meter very nice I think I paid about 125/145 I also bought all the calibrating solutions and that kind of stuff, but for my bubble buckets it has been worth it
