I'm at a loss then. I would still cut the damaged stuff off though. I doubt it'll repair itself in time and that way the lower stuff gets a better view of the sun. I know very little about outdoor being a Pom. We don't have the weather for it. Best of luck with it

To me it looks like something has been sprayed on it. If the underneath stuff is ok and it's just the tops. Have you moved it to where something could've run off of somewhere on to it. A roof perhaps? I'd suggest cutting all the bad bits off so the plant doesn't waste energy and stress...
