    Trichomes & Harvesting

The fan leaves are the main nutrient sinks with regards to Cannabis. You won't get a nutrient build up in the sugar leaves (unless you severely overfeed).

    Trichomes & Harvesting

Clear trichomes, still has a while to go. I'm not sure what you mean exactly. Trichomes do not grow inside buds. Usually trichomes on lower calyx sections mature and appear slower than the upper calyxes. But in general you should be able to get a feel for the overall state of the trichomes by...

    Trichomes & Harvesting

You should just make sure you look at trichomes from all over the plant so you get a proper average. If you do not own a high res digital camera or any other way of looking at trichomes then yes I'd say you should just cut off some tips of the leaves so you can look at that thoroughly. The...

    Trichomes & Harvesting

It depends on how your plants are looking really. It's doable but it's hard to tell without seeing the plant(s). The bottom flower nodes might not even be worth growing out, I don't know, because I can't see your plant(s). You should not remove fan leaves though.

Are you saying you have/had males in your garden? Follow the percentages I've posted in the first post of this thread and you'll do fine. Be sure to keep the other pointers in mind as well. If you want more precise advice, post some pictures.

Curing Day 3 - Grass Smell - Humidity not rising?

It was directed towards spandy, in an attempt to acknowledge people who put out pertinent information. There is so much misinformation on cannabis forums that I was just happy to see that the two posts I'd read which spandy posted were both logical and helpful.

Who's Got The Fostiest Buds? Let's See How Frosty A Bud Can Really Get?

Never heard of that strain before, just looked it up. A 1/1 ratio of THC and CBD sounds insane, is that even possible? Let me know how it is :leaf:

Why flushing is a myth yes and no explained!

You can't just take it out of context like that and make up my position. I haven't said water absorption (water potential really) doesn't affect the drying time. If you have a shriveled plant and a fresh plant, they will obviously dry in different time frames. But what you're arguing for makes...

Who's Got The Fostiest Buds? Let's See How Frosty A Bud Can Really Get?

You're dealing with some proper sticky bud there mate, well done. Which strain is it?

Why flushing is a myth yes and no explained!

I think we're going around in circles now. I already pointed out how pre-harvest flushing doesn't really affect the moisture levels or water retention of calyxes and sugar leaves. Sugar leaves are almost never yellowing/shriveled nor dead upon harvest. Unless some disease or major mistake has...

Why flushing is a myth yes and no explained!

You don't smoke the fan leaves. You smoke the calyxes. The only time I see "cannibalized" calyxes is when the plant is near death or has infestation or some other disease. You have to remember that just because you've caused a deficiency in the fan leaves doesn't mean you've removed anything...

You need to hang out in H&C more ^^ Nothing better than pertinent information being spread.

Thumbs up Rancho, spandy & Canna :leaf: Now if we could only get more people on here who understand the value of scientific research.

Why flushing is a myth yes and no explained!

There are a few variables which can change how quickly the plant material dries. Let's assume that the two plants were grown to the same extent, with similar calyxes and hydration. The only difference; one was fertilized all the way to chop. The other was given only water 2-3 weeks (or whatever...

Why flushing is a myth yes and no explained!

We're talking about context here. Nutrients are taken up by the plant as ions and then goes through changes during the translocation and eventual processes which the plants use them for. What I meant with regards to jpill is that your argument seemed to be faced towards the production of sugars...

Why flushing is a myth yes and no explained!

This thread is a mess. At least Akula & jpill use scientific research and publications to support their conclusions. First of all, this thread is started on a fallacious basis. We're talking about PRE-HARVEST FLUSHING here. Not flushing. You have to first of all make a distinction between...

    Trichomes & Harvesting

Have you grown pure Sativas and pure Indicas? The phenotype determines the high, not the trichomes (when we're talking energetic high vs. couch-lock high). Nobody has said anything about chopping @ first sign of amber, nor has anyone said you should do that and nobody likes early harvested...

    Trichomes & Harvesting

Well if you let the leaves turn yellow (invoke a deficiency basically) then of course the plant wouldn't require as much feeding, since parts of it has died (or is in the process of feeding on itself). If you don't cause a deficiency then your plant will still require the same (maybe even...

    Trichomes & Harvesting

Well I'm sorry, but there's no proof of that being true. CBN is 90-260% less psychoactive than THC, the exact number is not know for sure but it's somewhere between those two numbers. THC is also sedative. As are most other cannabinoids. To say CBN is what gives most of sedation of the high is...

    Trichomes & Harvesting

You're welcome :leaf: Tbh it doesn't look like you've bitten off more than you could chew. With the pictures you just posted I can honestly say I'm impressed, you should be very proud of what you've achieved. The calyxes look very good and swollen but with the numbers you've given me about the...
