I've grown in my backyard before. The plants came out very nice. The reason I've gone indoors is, I control the seasons. It just took too long outside. One of reasons I've asked this question is because I had concerns about the changes in light intensity. Or any other problems or benefits.

Isnt your light 600 watts? a 400 wouldnt need as much, would 170cfm be enough for a 400 hps?

ok so what kind of fan is on your light? I dont have a hid or hps im using cfls. i will be adding a 400 hps in a few weeks, when its time to flower.

I think Im going to try the 4" inline type. I found one online it is only $26. It draws 0.30amp (36w i think) and blows 65 to 80 cfms. I think that will exchange the air in my room in about 3 to 4 mins. 224cf/60cfm=3.73. That should work shouldnt it

The cost to buy the fans is not as important to me as the cost to run them. Dont get me wrong, I cant afford those $300 super blowers, but the cost of running them day in and day out could really add up. 12v fans seem like they woul be cheaper in the long run. Assuming they'r enough air flow.

I thought they might be cheaper to run, because they are 12v. What about a blower fan for a boat? Those have good flow, 100 to 300 cfm, depending on the one you get, and those are 12v.
