    Go-as-you-grow White Label Northern Lights

Thanks for the info.. by the end of October it should be about 40F in the middle of the night and around 60F during the day.. we've had really weird weather this year and they're predicting a slightly warmer end of the year I'll have to just play it by ear and see how it goes.. shes put up with...

I'm just wondering when you think she'll start budding seeing as she's presenting her pre-flowers now? The light cycle will only be 12/12 near the end of September, but by then the weather here would be getting pretty cold, probably too cold Will she just begin to flower as the daylight...

It will also take practice as well as trial & error until you find what technique works best for you.. Once they start to fruit it's like OMG coolest feeling in the world lol and it's amazing how fast they grow

I'm using a $10-$20 analog thermometer/hygrometer from the department store.. I can't really afford anything better.. I've used the same model in extreme dry and humid conditions and it's been pretty accurate so I hope it's doing the job properly..

Right now... :) I don't think I sprayed the cakes enough after rolling them in the vermiculite but the mycelium's slowly working it's way around it so it's all good.. hopefully they should begin pinning sometime this week Now I'm holding 73F and ~91% RH (I may cover up another row of holes...

Nice I set up a new fruiting chamber. My last one wasn't providing enough air exchange and it was a little warm at 80F so I got a bigger container and a smaller light, so far the temperature went down a tad (73F-74F) but I'm still waiting to see if the humidity picks up, so far it's only 85% or...

Sweet I'd love to follow that if you start a log.. And yes I'll definitely post pinning pics, so far there's still nothing but the cakes still smell like mushroom so there's no contam and they're still alive and well The FC does get a little warm at night when I put the light on in there but...

Alright I think they're about 13 weeks old now and they're probably about 2 feet tall at this point I don't have any photos but I'll try to get some soon.. also one of them is showing some very small female pre-flowers

Since the mycelium needs air exchange (to breathe) during colonization this means there's a gap somewhere in the jar, causing the cake to lose some of its moisture content.. some people dunk and roll after the first flush but it's highly recommended to move that dunk and roll to before the first...

Thanks =) OK so I just checked the jars again and they're doing great overall! Out of the 7 remaining, one is contaminated (just on the verge of it but enough to toss it), one isn't quite ready yet, and the other 5 are ready so I'm dunking and rolling those ones.. Right now they're dunking, but...

Thanks, I actually don't have a heater at all, it's just as you see it and it's in a closet so the temperature doesn't fluctuate much at all

    Cake Sterilization methods..

I did and continue to agree that there are plenty of superior techniques to the PF Tek, however not all of them are necessarily suitable or convenient for everybody.. For example, between being health conscious (BRF), having a green thumb (vermiculite), having toys around the house (poly fill)...

    Cake Sterilization methods..

Do check out shroomery.org.. good advice.. however go ahead with the PF Tek if you feel it's the best method for you.. 420ganja420 claims it's outdated but that doesn't make any sense whatsoever as the method still works as good as if not better than it did when it was first introduced and there...

Alright so here's a pic of my set up as promised.. I figured I'd take the picture without flash to give it a cooler effect plus it shows the spectrum of light (its a 15W daylight fluorescent tube) The temperature inside the chambers is about 75-80F and between 90-100% humidity.. I NEVER thought...

Nice all I can say is be as sterile as possible and you should do fine The 7 jars are colonizing a bit slowly at this stage so I moved them to a slightly warmer location in hopes that they'll pick up the pace.. I also set up my fruiting chamber so once all the temps and humidity are stable I'll...

    Cake Sterilization methods..

I've tried using a pot and lid before but only with maybe <10% overall success.. I bought a pressure cooker though and haven't had trouble since, 100% so far.. nothing wrong with the PF TEK, I like it since I'm only doing it for personal use

Everything's still going well.. I finally realized that the reason one of the jars didn't respond at all is because I totally forgot to inoculate it.. during the inoculation process I had gotten mixed up with the jars at one point and forgot which ones I had already done and I guess as such I...

OK so since I didn't get any help here or in the other forum I took the matter into my own hands.. whatever it is that was affecting the plant basically took over, so I removed all the leaves that were affected which was essentially every fan leaf (I know it's looked down upon but I guess you...
