Switching to CMH on 3x6 trays... advice??

Just going to ask the obvious: who told you to move to CMH? For cannabis, HPS outperforms CMH in flowering every day of the week...its supported by oodles of evidence, just ask any long time grower on here. Look at Sedan's grow in Ukraine: he uses 600W HPS. If CMH boasted better quality and...

Should I stay with 2 400w HPS or..

Love it. Plants love it too. When I first added a 600w LED to my 600W HPS, the band in between the two had the most intense growth ive seen w/o using a CO2 generator. Only problem that occurs is that the leds usually need to be close to the leaves so i usually tilt the led and move it to edge of...

300 watt mars hydro 4ft cabinet grow

Looks fine but I hope you are not trying to veg in all of that purplish light. My veg LED is white light, like 80% white light. If you dont have a veg setting on this LED, buy some T5's and grow over them for 3-4 weeks, should only cost you ~$100 or add some 6500k CFLs, maybe 2 would do it...

How am I looking for week 6 of flower?

Hm, my Dream Queen looks different from yours. Maybe phenotype? It looks like you might have been over feeding as I see some curling downward on the leaf edges, which could have possibly caused them to mature early. 6 weeks is pretty early for Blue Cookies, they are at around ~65 days flowering...

My sister's best friend invited herself over to smoke with me

Nah, with the US gov/State Govs lining up to start licensing and fees for the next billion dollar MJ industry, id say you see the consolidation of small grow ops into huge pharma grow ops, and the price to hover around the $30 per 1/8 mark. They gotta keep their margins, yo. Edit: I say $30 per...

In my opinion, LED light is better than HPS light

LED vs HPS, the classic argument about nothing... LED's have better spectrum but lack penetration power (or they scale more sharply with distance) (and this is as of now with the usual 3w-6w cree chips). That's basically it. I use both and the plants love it. Who cares about efficiency INDOORS...

    flowering problem help

Have you tried flushing with a gallon of distilled water and checking the runoff ppms? Have you checked the coco you bought for salt residue? Leafs curling down can signify quite a bit of problems, most commonly over-watering/drowning or a variety of nute lockout. U also mentioned high...

Should I stay with 2 400w HPS or..

I would honestly move to 1 x 600w HPS in a air-cooled reflector. You will use less wattage and I think you will see noticeable gains. The difference from 400w to 600w is very noticeable, your buds will get much denser and larger, and the internodal spacing will decrease (more buds per plant)...

    the issue with Lucas formula

I find most people over feed. To the moon. I hover around 180 - 200 ppms in veg, starting with distilled water (steam distilled). For clones, its even less around 100 ppms. In bloom I hover around 350 - 450. Plants that I find are heavy feeders in hydro, usually produce more resin than...

i was going to use advanced nutrients big bud

A pretty famous grower out in Colorado did a very extensive analysis & experiment involving what he termed the best (most popular/industry tested) mineral-based nutrient lines: Dyna Gro & AN. Dyna-Gro Grow + Bloom vs. Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur A + B (extremely expensive) He found that...

Return Of The Incandescent and what this new tech could mean for the future

You guys need to read more carefully. Look at the PSD (power spectral density) plot on page 12. See the apex of the curve of the "optimized stack" (AKA nanocrystalline shell)? Look at the low power output, almost half that of the "bare emitter". The reason is as follows: " surrounded by an...

    AK48 - 250W - First Grow

Looks awesome man! Congrats on your first grow! I would probably chop soon, maybe in a day or two. Remember to chop at the base and set in a vase full of clean water for 10-24 hrs. This will let your plant soak up some water and kinda "dilute" the nutrient build up. It looks like you had root...

    question about ph?

Lemon juice doesnt work very well in imo. If you need a quick cheap fix use distilled white vinegar at about 1 - 1.25 tsp per gallon.

    Inda-Grow + Aquamist SoG + Vert ScroG

hey bibbles! nice grow! I read somewhere in this journal that you had problems with nutes etc. imho, the most common culprit is over-"treating" your water. If you live in a bigger city or suburb, you should be able to access your local water department webpage. If they are on top of their shit...

My First Grow - 600w GHS White Widow & Barney's Vanilla Kush

yeah just popped about 20 vanilla kush seeds as well. pretty vigorous with nice wide leaves, kinda like plush berry. my only suggestions to a first timer are to probably dilute every ratio you read to half the amount. The most common mistake is over feeding. also dont use plywood! just wrap...

CFL Closet Grow For Me And Wifey

Its always worth it. Especially if you stick with another grow. Each time you grow (at least when your starting) you increase your yield significantly. Plus, its not like you will use anywhere close to all those nutes for just 3 plants :). The second time I grew paid for all the equipment I...

The "I don't starve my plants before harvest" thread

In my experience you either go lightly on nutes (usually half strength) or you go 3/4 to full strength and flush final 1-2 weeks. Lightly on the nutes followed by a 3-4 day flush is what has worked for me. I also chop at the base and put the plant in a vase for a night before I trim and hang it...
