my first grow, and i used some similar soil in scott's potting soil mix. i also had a few bugs emerge, but i can say i was surprised. i think from now on i will use different soil and not the pre-fertilized type. It doesn't cause carcinogenic smoke. If that were the case all our vegetables...

that's an interesting idea...i just bought some ona blocks for $12. they claim it is all essential oils that bond to take away odour. it's definitely worth a try for this price. i'll put them under the exhaust fan i have in my closet :hump:

from what i undestand it's a gallon per foot of growth for soil. mine are one foot tall bushy indicas that i have kept in one gallon containers since sprouting and are about to flower

its all good bro. just maximize your lumens with your light. just moved mine 16" away from the light, but they say the closer the more you get. use your light for everything it gives you, but ya 1000w gives you more coverage over a greater are. 8)
