IMO I don't think those are balls.

I would suggest if you have a male plant to pick off the flowers and dispose of them...they will grow back after being picked and the plant can be kept in veg until the pollen is needed. Picking off pollen sacks individually can be very time consuming. Also male plants can be cloned to help...

How close can I keep my light to my plant? 250 watt HPS will efficiently illuminate 3 square feet. Keep the bulb 14-20 inches above the plants. What's the best soil and where can I get it? Mushroom compost, check your local nursery for this.
