"golden teacher" is a made up name for a psilocybe cubensis "strain", just like "northern lights" or "white widow" my advice is, THEY'RE ALL THE SAME.... naming "strains" of a species is a marketting ploy to sell seeds/spores at a high profit margin.

think about it you're gonna wait for little mushrooms to start growing, then dunk the cake in water for 24hr, then coat it with vermiculite, then the mushrooms are supposed to grow? if your cakes are in the dark, they might not pin if your cakes pin, they might not like getting drowned in...

in the USA, fresh mushrooms are hard to find, $1-3 per gram, at least, someone might pay $5/g... it's hard to estimate, no one sells/buys fresh mushrooms, except Amsterdam? if a person really wanted fresh mushrooms, it could be expensive. a light dose would be ~10g (fresh), medium 15-20g...

it's getting late in the season, depending on your location... check www.shroomery.org there are outdoor mushroom beds guides. some colonized grain, some fiber, some simple sugar, some seasoned compost... compost is easy, cubensis love it. august is way late in the season to start outside...
