Why not use a large (wide and shallow pot? ) and grow a single plant? .You tie her up in veg (LST) and you gain in height ,and grow several healthy colas instead of several plants with single colas?

I was afraid of that too.....in my case I've grown a dwarf strain (SS#1 ) ,and used a 1 gallon pot. I didn't take a look at the roots yet ,but I will harvest in a couple of days and take a pic of the root mass ,I'm also curious about what happened down there.

a rule of thumb is that during flowering the plant will stretch at least 2x more of its veg height. Is height a concern for you? or width of the grow space? what kind of seeds? Autos or Photos? Sorry qwizoking ,I had thought that u were the OP.

check my sig ,I grow in 1g rectangular pot ,lots of pics and you can see how stretching has evolved.... I didn't do any root trimming ,I only kept the light as close as possible at all times.

how many do you plan to grow?

Do you need to cover the bottom with a layer of something ,or just soil and that's it? ....sorry to hijack....

Actually ,I never catch bass.....much like anything else.........except for some sun rays ,fresh air ,and a whiff and puff of any good ganja which may emerge along the way. I once caught a cold though......

I think that the main restriction was pot size(roughly 1g) ,while I could have used a larger one ,It is sitting on dvd's right now to be close to the CFL. With CFL's ,I think the secret is to keep them as close as possible.My next grow I will LST ,whatever the strain.... I tried several times...

I don't have much experience so not many strains to choose from ,but this has been the most forgiving one ,so far. I grow with 125w CFL in not-so-optimal conditions: SHORT STUFF#1

Assuming we are talking about the same strain ,medium -small plant (one of the stinkier ones) ,will it smell worse when growing or when drying?/ I'm asking because so far I have only dealt with low odor strains ,and couldn't see the difference..
