I disagree with lights on during the "waiting", I would turn them off until you want 12 hours on. They don't mind (my own experience).

I have done the same thing. When the lights was turned off, I disconnected the timer, and did not turn on the lights again until I wanted them on (12 hours at night). So just leave them in the dark until you want daytime again, mine didn't mind.

I agree with previous poster. I did not get success until I got correct temps underneath the clones (heat rises), and bright light is bad. I use direct light, but only 23W CLF about 20cm from the clones. I use red light, as they say it's better for roots/germination, but blue will do fine.
