Hydroponics Question and Answer NewGrowth Style

Wait for a few set of roots to come through the bottom of the rockwool. Then put a single layer of hydroton on the bottom of the net pots. Then put your rock wool w/ seedling on top of that. You can feed your roots though the holes in the net pots, but it doesn't really matter. Then fill the...

Root Rot - H2O2 Vs. Organic Protection

50% seems to be a lot more expensivethan even the 35% when you compare them cost per weight.

Root Rot - H2O2 Vs. Organic Protection

Thank you so much for all the info, especially the article by Ed Rosenthal. I guess I would like to hear some people's experiences if they have tried either, or both (not at the same time obviously) and see if they think one did a better job than the other. The first article doesn't really say...

Root Rot - H2O2 Vs. Organic Protection

I have lately been having some issues with pythium and root rot. I am just seeing what everybody else likes to use to combat and/or prevent it. I know a lot of people like h2o2, but I have also heard a lot of good things with the organic root protectants and inoculates. Some examples would be...

    Grow journal for bagseed

As stated in 2 threads previous to this one, I screwed up the last one. I was trying something new by trying to grow "bonzai-type" plants with bagseed in a little container, and it didn't work. The sativa phenotype in that particular bagseed strain killed that idea. So, I built a new bin...

    are they dying ?

Stop watering them for a while, at least a week or so. Wait for the soil to become dry, then just water it only a little every 3 days or so.

    what do you prefer?

18/6, saves money on your bill. Not much of a difference between the two in growth rates anyways, IMO.

    Grow journal for bagseed

Really? Didn't I say that like at least a couple times in this journal already. It wasn't anything I was doing (i had a 600 watt light on one plant), it just kept growing upwards. It finally stopped and started filling out, but yeah, it was probably going to go for 9 weeks altogether.

    Grow journal for bagseed

i am still around. i screwed this up because i was using too small of a reservoir. To make a long story short, i tried switching the plant into a bigger netpot and ended up killing it in the process. I wanted to keep the plants small, but it was not feasible with this bagseed strain. Anyways, i...

    Hermie or unOpened Female?

I'll be there in March. What side of the island do you stay on? I'm going to the west side this time, around Negril. Should be a good time.

First Hydro DWC Grow / 400w MH

do you plan on growing those plants to maturity in that? I don't think you have a big enough resevoir for 6 plants. By the time they start flowering, you will be filling that thing up at least once a day and constantly correcting pH. I would only grow 2 plants in there IMO. I personally use...

    Your way of CLONING

Yeah, i got that too for starting my seeds. It rocks. My germination rates have gone up substantially since I started using it.

    Hermie or unOpened Female?

definitely female pre-flowers there. i would wait to see if it is hermie though. sometimes there are bumps which look like male preflowers, but they turn out to be female later on. give it some time before the chopping block.

    easing into flowering

yeah, just flip it to 12/12. That way, it kind of "shocks" the plant and forces it to flower immediately. I don't know if you've ever grown outdoors, but it takes a while for them to flower because it is so gradual. When I grow indoors, I can usually tell (what the sex is) within 1 week of...

    Found my seeds!!!

Hooray. I know some of you may not care, but I had brought a lot of seeds back from Jamaica last year and I thought I had lost them earlier this spring. I had looked (or thought I did) everywhere and couldn't find them. I was so mad because I really wanted to grow some indoors (I grew 1 plant...

High Pressure Sodium (HPS) or Metal Halides(MH) ?

i use both, MH for veg, and HPS for flower. i'll tell you that the mh definitely makes a difference over the HPS for veg. I have done HPS only grows, and the plants don't look quite the same when I'm ready to flower as they would had I used a MH.
