he may not need an hps, but it is a lot easier than having 9 cfl's. but we both agree that he obviously needs more than that 1 cfl to grow a plant.

If you want to seriously grow a few plants, buy a 400W HPS. The light is the most important thing, soil or hydro. Then comes nutrients. You can have the best nutrients, but if you don't have a big enough light, your plant will produce wispy, under-potent nugs.

Can I use HPS for entire grow?

5 or 10 makes a difference. a good rule of thumb is to multiply the number of plants by 75 to obtain the wattage you need.

Can I use HPS for entire grow?

Well, I can tell you this. I have done both, that is I have used HPS for both vegging and flowering and I have also used MH for the veg phase and the HPS for the flowering phase. Currently, I do the latter of the two because the MH does make a difference. If you can't afford the conversion...

    Rant/ Stupid roommate

Not to rub salt on an open wound, but I just left for a little less than a week and had my roomie take car of it. I made it really easy for him because I premixed and pH adjusted the water before I left so I told him all he had to do was top it off. He actually did it. Let's just say I had my...

shuld i bump my cims up ???

That's why I like to use Thrive Alive with B-1. This is not another version of Superthrive. It is actually a 1-1-1 fertilizer for very small plants. It also has B-1 to jump start the root systems. There is virtually a 0% chance you will burn your plants. I always have great results with the...

I shold say that I grow with FloraNova in hydro. It has some organic additives to it and I also use a little 3% h2o2 if my temps start creeping above 72. I never have any problems either.

What advanced nutrients should i buy?

The gods left other plants for us too: like mushrooms (not technically a plant, but anyways...) and coca (only the leaf though), old Indian ceremonial tobacco (Nicotiana rustica, hardly used anymore), peyote, Salvia divinorum, and Papaver somniferum (opium poppies). Anyways, as far as AN goes...
