Res Cooling: PC Liquid Cooling Radiator Hack

I've got it running now in my veg room where it's about 77ºF ambient. Fans are running on the radiator. Nutrient temp hovering at about 72ºF. I do have airstones running in the system, which could be helping to bring the nute temp down some as well. But it's definitely cooler than if it were...

DWC without Rockwool? // Germinating in an Aeroponic Cloner?

I rooted cuttings by dropping them in 2" net pots suspended in a bubble bucket and nothing else. Once they started barely rooting (w/ 1/4" - 1/2" protrusions), I transferred each into their own 6" net pot buckets w/ shale rock medium and nothing else. The cuttings are held in place just as well...

Res Cooling: PC Liquid Cooling Radiator Hack

Greetings, I've been recently trying different methods to reduce my nutrient solution temps and I stumbled across a solution that is quite interesting. I used PC liquid cooling parts as a radiator through which I continually circulated my solution. Thanks to the second law of thermodynamics...

light proof containers from walmart? (hydroponic res options)

What about placing each bucket in a thick black plastic trash bag and sealing it off? Obviously poke holes for the plant and the air/water supply lines. Seal any tubes by sinching up the plastic and then wrapping it with a piece of tape. Cheap, simple, effective. You could even use a couple bags...

Some images for inspiration... these boxes are apparently quite common in the Netherlands.

Quiet. The Neighbors Can Hear You (Sound Control Thread)

Good tip on the 'softbox wiet'. I have not been able to find them commercially available outside of Europe. They can obviously be built, but seems like there would be a big market for small growers here in the US. I've tried searching for many combinations of terms...

Quiet. The Neighbors Can Hear You (Sound Control Thread)

First-time poster, long-time reader. As many others in this thread, I too use a tent grow and have had to deal with noise (and heat) in a small living space. To reduce my need for a huge, noisy ventilation system, I use a 250W Induction lamp in my tent. It's like a super-powerful fluorescent...
