    Dorm Grow's G8 900 Watt

From what I have found from using G8 lights is that even the listed actual power draw of the lights is lower than they claim. I have every model from 240 watt to 600 watt except for the bloom spectrum ones. The 240 watt draw about 125 watts max, the 450 watt draws about 230 watts, the 600 watt...

UVA/UVB the real deal. A must read topic for all growers.

I wouldn't waste your money on UV LEDs at this point even the most powerful ones are still way under powered to give you any kind of coverage or penetration. Looking at those LEDs the top power rated ones are in the UVa range and only 400mW max watts. The UVb true ones in the 310-320nm range...

Man I hate mites too. Been battling them for a while now. Used Avid and Floramite for a while but it would never seem to kill all of them. Started using neem oil this stuff http://www.quantumapocalypse.net/ Works pretty well but for it to really be effective you have to spray everything every...

    Got a Blackstar 240 for in a 4x2 tent

Never used a Blackstar 240 I have 3 G8LED 240s that are almost the same lights by the looks of them. Slightly different PCBs though. They work pretty good over a 3x2' foot print for veg. I've never really used it for flowering other than with a SOG party cup grow that I didn't give enough...

Window Full Sun vs 1,000w. HPS

Yeah I've read that too. I got them for my current grow will have to find out after harvest if the increase is noticeable.

Window Full Sun vs 1,000w. HPS

I disagree. In this post Tags clearly shows that on a cloudy day the umol reading was only 99 while during a sunny day it was 1300+ in the same location. Meters don't lie. Sure you do however still get UV light and infrared from that sun that passes through clouds better but those wavelengths...

Window Full Sun vs 1,000w. HPS

You'll be better off keeping them under your HPS during the winter. This chart shows how much less light output we get in the US over the course of winter and the year in general. http://www.extension.purdue.edu/extmedia/HO/HO-238-W.pdf

I would always get swelling stems when I used rockwool. I switched to peat plugs and haven't gone back since. They don't stay as wet so you need to water them more often but I get clones faster. As for being colder in your area a simple heat matt will solve that. Should give you another 10...

UVA/UVB the real deal. A must read topic for all growers.

I've been using 3 of these http://www.lightyourreptiles.com/ard3t546in54.html for about a month now. Vegged with them on 24/0 for 3 weeks as well. I did notice a slight increase in growth but that could also be attributed to the 3 6400k T5's I also added. I have 3 dual 4' T5 lamps over my...

    Multiple root systems?

They will root again and you can have a big U shaped plant. I've done it in a test once but I never really let it grow out. If I could grow outdoors I would definitely have given this more of a try but I didn't have the room to keep it around indoors. In theory you could do this multiple times...

    Getting the plant TO stretch

If you keep the 600w high and dimmed it should cause a lot more stretch. You can also do 18/6 can you'll get more stretch than 24/0 if you're still vegging and trying to get stretch.

    vegging cuttings from flowering plants

I just revegged some plants that were in deep flower like 5 or so weeks. I had to move and didn't want to leave them there and they were all pretty small. Like about a 12-18" It took a little over two months of 24/0 light to get them back to full on veg. They're doing pretty good now but I...

    UV Light to max THC

That is simply not true from the prospective of someone with proven results of using UVB. Kite replies to that statement in the UVB thread from the advanced section. https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/497246-uva-uvb-real-deal-must-15.html#post9056861 That fact that people...

    Growing from seed

There is more to light than just light. The amount of Energy actually being out put from a light source is what is important. The amount of photons actually hitting your plant per second. Check this out. Read page two as it shows a map of the power of the sunlight throughout the year...

    Growing from seed

While I see what you're trying to do its not typically done even if it doesn't get that cold. I'm in the 805 as well and while we get a lot of sun during the winter the days a too short for meaningful growth. Normally what you're trying to do can be done successfully in a green house but moving...

Very slow grow and left drying from the middle tip. HELP PLEASE.

The light shock should be minimal with only a 150 watts. Check the underside of you leaves. Do you see any white specs or any mites? After looking at your first picture it looks like you might be getting mite damage. Its hard to tell though because the pictures are not the greatest. Can you...

Very slow grow and left drying from the middle tip. HELP PLEASE.

Thats pretty normal for leafs to grow old and die during flower. From your pictures I can't see anything that stands out. Most of the leafs look healthy and the plants look to be doing decent so far.
