My buddy uses hyrdoton in 3 gal pots on a ebb system. He put two plants per pot, it has worked out for him so far with some lst to give each of them some room. He started them on all the way to each side of the pot to give their roots room, they're healthy - like 18" tall - 3 weeks into flower.

You can look it up online and find home supplies to bring it down more if needed. I think it is baking soda for a downer - Just need to mix very very well, might cause some clogging too. I would wait until you can buy some ph down if you can. FYI - I am using the gh 3 part too.

All and all they look good. Nothing a little adjusting cant help. Do you have a ppm meter? If not - Maybe change your rez and go 2/3 of the recommended strength and see what they do. Those spots will not turn green again, but it would be a good idea to avoid your new growth having this issue...

Your set up sounds good, nothin wrong with small or budget grows. I am a budget grower at times. Are you concerned about smell at all? What strain you got? Doing dro or dirt?

I havent tried that. I use a carbon filter, a 150. They are prolly the most expensive filtration system but pretty much guaranteed to work. You can get them for less if you can find them used. I got mine off craigslist.
