That slime on the roots is called pythium, it not good and usually always get worse. Keep reservoir / root zone temps low: 62-65F, you convert to Cecilius this temp is crucial and needs to be consistently through out entire grow to keep out of pythium breeding temp. Great place to start doing...

William do you have a local hydro store near you? If so bring a sample of your solution to your hydro store asap to save your plants. bring a cups worth of solution as well and make sure its clean so not to contaminate your sample. Best of luck Bro I hope the best for you.
