I would ditch the tubes and go for more CFLs. Tubes are almost useless after vegging. Look around here at some of the CFL setups and try one of them, they are cheap and effective.

Wait so you just blow the hit into the bottle, then suck it back out? If you have 6 cubic feet of smoke, what's the difference if you take one hit with 6 cubic feet or blow it into a bottle and take 3 hits with 2 cubic feet of smoke each? .

No way that's happening. You will spend at least that much on electricity throughout the process.

I wouldn't rely on fluoro tubes for a complete grow. If you are strapped for cash go with CFLs, if not go for HPS.

I have 4 plants going strong. Those are 40w CFLs, 150w incandescent equivalent. Total of about 22,000 lumens. It's a small box, about 8-10 square feet, completely covered with mylar. I will probably get a couple more for side lighting when I come across some more cash. This is just my first...

I use these clamp lights: With one of these splitters for each one: The 8'' clamp lights at Lowes were about $8, the splitter was $2. So, $10 for a lamp that will hold 2 CFLs. FYI, it is a tight fit to get 2 bulbs in there, it is easiest if you screw the bulbs into the splitter first...

I am from SC. If you are looking for coastal area, Charleston is the place. It can be pretty expensive there though.

Ok, just so there is no confusion here, this is what a CFL is in case you don't know: I have bought CFLs at Lowes, Wal-Mart, and Dollar Tree. If you can't find them anywhere or can't find the ones that you want, here is a link to site where you can order any wattage at almost any color...

Dollar Tree is the bomb. Everything there really is a dollar. I got light bulbs, mylar, and pots there.

Could you explain why CO2 would not be beneficial in cfl grow? Just curious.

I now have 7 bulbs, total of around 13,500 lumens, 178 watts. ................................... They are growing so fast now. I love checking them every day and seeing real progress. .

From what I understand, as long as they are growing, they are doing something, but more light = bigger, better, faster growth. I think you are OK on the lights now, but more can never hurt. Have you looked at what temp these lights are (2700k? 6000k?) ?
